at the same time…

I was doing some reading on the internet today.  Going to different training sites to better my skill and I read this :
When you buy an expensive GUITAR, you KNOW that playing skills
DO NOT COME with it!
When you buy an expensive CAR, you KNOW that driving skills

DO NOT COME with it!
When you buy an expensive CAMERA, why, then,
do you not know that exposure skills

DO NOT COME
with it?

My Photoshop Cs3 is giving me trouble. I cant open anything in it so I resized these in piknic- blah!

I just want to show the difference in these pictures taken with natural, on-board flash, speedlight (bounced) and Speedlight pointed at 45 dergree angle.

Onboard:

Speedlight at 45 degree angle:

Speedlight pointed at sky:

NATURAL:

Remember that “something I had up my sleeve”

Well, the details are pretty much ironed out.

The date:  October 25th (my anniversary

What is it:  A Fashion Modeling Shoot

Where: “A Secret Location” (TBA)

Do not even worry about bringing your own models because we already have them.  There should be a model or 2 for each photog there. (OVER THE AGE of 18!) This is NOT an open invitation to bring your own models so please don’t!!

What to bring: Your own model releases… We will have some if you dont have one (Note to self: must work on that…)

YOUR CAMERA- duh

Common photography knowledge

Lenses(if available)

Reflector (if you have one)

Speedlight(also if available)

This will give you the chance to work with models and gain experience of different poses, learn shooting techniques, lighting, equipment as well as adjusting your camera to take better photos. There will be modeling coach, make up artist, hair stylists as well as other photographers to help you out.

Myself and my pro friend/collegue, Christine are working hard to make sure this happens.  If you are able to attend, the cost is $1500…GOTCHA… its FREE… of course!  Afterwards, PARTY at Christines!!

more later…my ears are ringing so I need to lay down

I was offered a chance to learn to use theatrical lighting.   I was invited by another photographer and collegue, Christine Bryant of Integrity Photography to come tag along. It is defintely hard to shoot in low light situations especially when you are a natural light photog.   I did my homework though.  I got on the net and googled by heart out.  Wrote down notes and tested it out before I got there.  I was limited since I sold my zoom lenses and was only working with a kit zoom and some prime lenses.

Images are from Grits Art Attack Tour at Murray Hill Theater.

But I think I did okay for my first time…???? I dont know… you tell me????
